A nice train journey.....to work of all places!
So on the way to work this morning (dreary, miserable and raining - the usual Scottish weather! Where is the snow I ask, tis christmas after all!
Anyway on the train this morning I was in my usual dream like state thinking about my workload for the day and I noticed a young guy - he must have been 25 if that, sitting in front of me, his phone rang and while he sat chatting (he was really happy and cheery) I heard him talk about how he'd not been to an AA meeting all week, it was nice knowing someone right there beside me was going through the same struggles I had, maybe more so maybe less but knowing he wasnt ashamed of the fact he was an alcoholic, that in that moment I wasnt alone it was really nice.
The stigma is always going to be there but it really warmed my heart to think that one day it could be broken.
We shouldnt be ashamed of what we are. Fighting is something to be proud of.
