6 months
My sober stretch started 5/7/14, so officially Friday was half a year without drinking. I feel pretty good about it, I'd like to get 1 year since that's a nice round respectable number.
Some days are tough. Yesterday was a bad one. I was working and had to deal with an exceptionally unpleasant person that left me feeling icky till bedtime. I find it interesting that there are people the same age as me who can only interact with other adults by creating a false hierarchy to put themselves in a position of dominance/superiority, while really I just need to get into a piece of electrical equipment and fix the effing problem for the greater good of their organization.
So yeah, I wanted to get smashed and have that "the hell with it all" attitude which is what I would have done 6 months ago. "Look at me, I'm a rebel, screw them all" while lighting another cigarette and chugging from a bottle. But I took the so-called boring route and ate pie and ice cream and got a good night's sleep, and got up early and am enjoying my day off.

Congrats on 6 months! That's a heck of an accoomplishment!
Regarding your encounter at work, I think we all know those kind of people. The way I deal with them is to remember that their hierarchy and ego only exists in their own minds. You cannot be responsible for or control their ignorance, so I usually just do my job, and let them take their problems with when they leave.

Man, your post is an inspiration. I *definitely* get dealing with icky feelings left by difficult people by saying "I be the rebel," and knocking then back. That's my go to life strategy really. It's great to hear you're six months past that.
