been a long time

Hi everyone, I hope you are well. Gee, where to start?

So two weeks ago, there was a work event. There was no mention of alcohol being there but it was. I couldn't say no. I couldn't leave as it was during work hours so I had no option. Had to stay. Long story short, I was offered some liquor, and caved in.

I had a plan in place that if there was alcohol I would leave. But I couldn't get up and leave work.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that I told myself if that ever happened again, I would leave that place. So I am. I am putting my two weeks notice in Monday. I have a new job lined up in a more corporate environment. No alcohol or drugs (obviously) are allowed on premises. I couldn't be more happy about this. I am sad to leave my job as it was amazing, but health comes first no matter what.

My new job is "senior" level, so I'm excited for the challenge!

I'm glad you're getting a new and presumably better job - but I don't quite get why you had to drink last time Justin?

it sounds like 'because it was there'?

Alcohol is everywhere - and often when you least expect it...that's a real gap in your recovery plan you need to fill, I think, J?

Of course I didnt have to drink. But I don't have the control when there are 100 people around me drinking and saying "hey try this, it's amazing".

I have nothing else to say. I can't say no.
