Hey Tonya, the great news is that you've found a powerful resource here....what an awesome first step! I'm just on my 13th day into this, but felt just like you on October 1st. I'm a little hesitant to give advise because I'm such a newbie, on the other hand I have just been exactly where you are. The most basic thing I did was to look at my points of highest vulnerability during the day. During the work week it is from about two in the afternoon until I leave work. I'm getting hungry by then and anticipating my (former) daily six pack for the evening. I now take a protein shake with me and drink sometime before leaving work. That helps me get home. I then focus on dinner and any homework etc. with the kids. Weekends are a little tougher. I get up and work out but currently don't take my wallet with me because my vulnerable time was on drive home from gym because I generally bought beer for the day then. If I run errands later in day I try to not go alone for fear of picking up a six pack. On Thursday some of the more experienced folks on SR are kind enough to start a weekend thread designed to keep us engaged. Take part in that. Post and read here a lot. Sorry so wordy. In a nutshell, think of your most vulnerable times and come up with a plan now to address them. I'm still in that mode and taking it one day at a time...Good luck...I'm rooting for you.
