second AA went well

hi guys

second aa went well, really nice people and felt like I was amongst friends

I'm not struggling really with the higher power aspect as I was baptised what I have trouble with is letting god back in so he can heal me and let me do what he has planned for me

so the 12 steps are going to be a challenge what I sincerely hope is that I continue to let god stay in my life instead of getting angry and walking away and shutting my mind and ears for what I did for years

yes I will be going back on weds and the same ladies I met this week are going to the weds and Friday meetings so I can share lifts with them, I'm actually looking forward to it which I never thought I would say

changes are starting to happen already I can feel this I just need to start my exercise regime again as been somewhat lazy but I haven't smoked nor drank and as I write this I'm now in the early day of day 9 so I shall not feel too guilty regarding my exercise as my body is already undergoing changes

I went to the doctors as I have pink eye conjunctivitis and the doctor says I could have got this due to me detoxing ? I was like how strange I get an eye infection because I'm no longer drinking ? really ? how strange

anyway sorry to waffle I do that a lot I'm off to bed as its late in the uk

I'm so glad I found this site its great having all you supportive folks here too

love charlotte xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I had red teary eyes when I detoxed. They were never diagnosed per se but that was real.

Charlotte, you are taking action and it's helping you and that's great. I'm glad you found a good group of women in your meetings.

Great that the AA meeting was a good one for you, keep coming back! Great steps you are taking.

Had several styes around my eyes in my first two months. Doc said a similar thing about detoxing and being run down. Takes time for the body to recover, something about all your energy / immune function has been processing alcohol for so long other stuff can stay hidden and all come out as part of the detox process. Hope that helps.
