Another nice thing about sobriety...
While driving home late tonight, I was stopped in a massive traffic checkpoint. And I had no fears like did I have too many, do I smell like booze, etc. How nice to drive without worries about that.
I wasn't a person who drove drunk-I did most of my heavy drinking at home, but there were times that I drove when I probably shouldn't have. I tried to be careful and pace myself, but I consider myself lucky that I never got a DUI. Or worse.
Anyway, I loved that feeling. I felt responsible. I felt capable. I felt like an adult, instead of a irresponsible F-up.

Hey SalGal, I agree with you. Going through a sobriety checkpoint sober is somewhat exhilarating.
I've been pulled over, given 3 field sobriety tests and 2 breath analyzer tests. Luckily I passed all tests but what a disaster waiting to happen. Sobriety rocks.

Thanks, soberwolf.
I went through only one checkpoint, Resolv, when I had been drinking earlier in the evening, and they let me through with no problems. Still, I was scared to death! Just not enough to quit drinking after that close call.
