The weekend begins in 15 minutes.

I have no plans & I’m not quite sure what to do. I don’t feel that I will or even want to drink as my determination is still running high. But normally I’d be in the pub straight after work (especially a Friday) for a few pints & plan the next move, usually more drinks elsewhere LOL.

I don’t have that many “not drinking ideas”. Jeeze it feels like I’m living someone else’s life at the moment, it's new territory.

Bookstores, coffee shops, parks, art exhibits... just some ideas.

Do you have any old hobbies, or any particular interests?

I would recommend taking a short nap after work, then eat, then plan your next move.

Good weekend to you!

i have loads to do, i will find something. It's just that it's such a lovely sunny day here in London. the first choice of a sunny Friday after work would be the Pub. Plus they have champagne in the cookery dept today (I work in magazine publishing).

Not fair!!! *SULKS*

Anyway, I look forward to Monday being my 2 weeks.

Stick around here, I learned a lot from the folks on SR. You could try an AA meeting too, many people there will have ideas too - and the meeting itself is something to do.

I'm a very detail oriented person at work, so I found that keeping a very detailed schedule of my off work time helped a lot in early sobriety. Get a planner or a google calendar and start filling up each and every hour with something. It can be as simple as "read a book" or "do the dishes" or "mow the lawn" - but having something planned really helped me. Idle time is perfect for your addiction to creep back in your head.

Day 12 here too!
We can do this. Take it easy, enjoy the weather and stay out of temptation's way.

I decided I'm going to the gym. Then it will be time to go home & eat. That should take most of the evening up.

the weekends get easier - at least I find they are.
a bit over 4 months sober now. I don't have much planned as I'm basically broke but Fridays I typically hit the gym after work for a good hour or so. By the time I bus my sorry butt home, it's 7ish...dinner time...watch TV/Movie and hit the sack early. That's pretty much my agenda to start the weekend.

you can do it

So I went to the gym. Then I didn't want to go home so I got a bus to the West End (on a big red double Decker). Risky territory, full of bars.

Browsed some shops & bought a DVD and 2 books. Then popped into a bar I always go to & ordered an orange juice. left there & read a post via my phone on this site about eating chocolate cake as I walked past a patisserie. So i popped in and had a massive slice of cream & chocolate gateaux and a cappuccino while reading one of the books I bought ("Sin City" about the sexual history of London for the last 1000 years. seems interesting).

Now home & heading for day 13 tomorrow

All in all a success. Although I need a tee-total friend to do it with me next week.

Jason, you will have to let us know how "Sin City" goes, sounds.....enticing

I just worked out, AA later, then I have to be up early for a charity walk in Chicago. Lovin' our fall weather so far!
