Got medication, got a rehab appointment
Got medication, got a rehab appointment
I was able to get an emergency medicine appointment ( I skipped the ER too afraid) at the mental clinic dragged myself down there this morning and told them the world. Got medication, about to take first doses crossing my fingers on this one! I hope these along with quitting alcohol will restore sanity to my life.
I've enrolled in rehab/detox starting Sunday, they say 3 days. So on Sunday got a ride to rehab, very reserved about inpatient. I don't like the idea of not being able to leave someplace, but I am going to go!
My odyssey in recovery, in my estimation, is just really starting now, because for the first time EVER in my life I was totally honest with a situation and got help despite my reservations.
Now the hard part, staying drug compliant, going to rehab, and making my plethora of appointments that I have scheduled. Daunting task, but I want some normalcy in my life so I will continue.
Thank you all for your well wishes and advice. IT was much appreciated at this very chaotic time in my life. Stay safe and sober friends.

I did inpatient for a month last summer…it changed my life. It felt like crossing a threshold. If you can do it, do it. I consider it a gift. One thing I noticed is that the peeps with the good attitudes were the ones who stayed sober after we left. There were a group of people who sat in the back row and it was a joke to them..it was a waste of time and money. I think you are a perfect candidate…you are serious about owning this and know that things have to change.
I promise you it is so much better on the other side!

TDG, it's a daunting task, but you are up for it. Take it a step at a time. I'm glad you got the appointment and the medication and good that you're set up for detox. You're going to get through this.
