Made it through my first test

Hi all,
Made it through my first real test yesterday. I'm on day 8 today!!
Yesterday was a hard one for me. My wife wasn't home yesterday evening and our roommate was also gone. Prime evening for the little voices to recommend a quick trip to the bar for a beer. Nobody around to hold me accountable and i could have stayed out all night if i wanted to and honestly that's exactly what i did want. However, i made it. No drinks, no heading to the bar, just stayed home and hung out with my dogs, had a cup of tea. Felt really nice to wake up today and be able to say i made it through a small milestone.

Well done! And how great to wake up fresh in the morning. You were accountable to you, not that horrible slave alcohol

Chuck, here's a roast.....I mean a Toast to you!

(sound of glasses clicking together with sparkling water in them as sober friends surround you)

Congrat's and way to go bro!!! Good for you!!! Keep it up!

You are first and foremost accountable to yourself. Great job in recognizing that.

I used "I'm going to bed sober!" as one of my mantras, too.

Nothing like awakening at 6AM with no alarm clock and ready to pounce on the world.

(Just don't say that prayer before you go to sleep.)

Congrats Chuckcheese. Today is my day 1 and tomorrow is Friday, which in the past has been a real test for me to stay sober, for a long time. Your proof that it can be done. Congratulations and great job.

It's really good hen you can make the choice to stay sober because it's the right thing to do for yourself.
