Health issues

Hi guys hope you are keeping well this morning

Wondering, any of you folks ever had health issues through alcohol? Did it get better once you stopped?

I have to pluck up the courage to see the Dr because im having a burning sensation in my liver, im only 28 and I don't wanna die!

The main thing I can do right NOW is not to pick up a alcoholic drink so today I am sober

I think getting a check up is a great idea Chilled - chances are there's no lasting problems and you can set your mind at ease.

I had health problems from alcohol. Fatty liver and bloated. High blood count for what ever it is they measure for.
These took quite awhile to return to normal after I got sober.
Seeing a doctor is a great idea. Be brutally honest about your drinking-they've heard it before and aids in making an accurate diagnosis.
Good luck to you and bravo for going.

I got sober when I was 30, and Im 55 now,
so 28 is young, young, young. Of course
55 to me with 24 yrs sobriety inching closer,
is still young. lol My recovery mind, heart
and soul refuses to let me get old. lol

Get a full bill of health and work on your
recovery. You can achieve this.

Good idea. Really you should establish a 'baseline' when you're young so your doctor will have something to compare it to when you're older. Especially valuable for cardiac care.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Chilledice. The body has a great capacity to heal and repair. But the check up is a good idea.
