A blessing in disguise...
Two weeks ago, I wanted to die. I really did think my life was over.
Today was a strange sort of day. I had another meeting with my dad and my addiction therapist. Well, I did talk with him for a while first, just the two of us.
He said I should sort of..."park" my relapse. Well, he called it a "blip"...not a relapse.
And he is right, I mean I did have months of sobriety beforehand. We were talking about things, and I was stuck in a major rut. He said before my "blip", I had stopped sending out CVs and I was just kind of going nowhere. My whole family went away, and I was completely on my own. I mean if there was an emergency and I needed a family member, my uncle would have been closest and he lives a 45 minute drive away. I think that partly triggered it.
Yesterday I called several places and asked about volunteer work. I hope to get that ball rolling next week. On Sunday night I am having dinner out with my best friend, her dad and her husband.
We talked about my mom as well. He wants to chat with her, by herself. Not about me, or my dad, or my sister or brother. Just her and why she is so angry and why she takes it out on us.
Next week, I'm getting all dressed up and I am going to the horse racing festival in my hometown. I don't actually know a thing about horses, but I'm looking forward to it
I can't actually remember the last time I wore a dress. Usually it's jeans and converse for me.
It's great to be making plans and to be out and about looking forward to things
Every cloud does have a silver lining.

WOW! (((((Tetra))))) I am SO happy for you. You sound so good and so upbeat and I was concerned about you. Hearing that things are looking up for you just made my night. Thanks for letting us all know. I am just so happy for you girl!
