Talking TGIF! What are you grateful for today?

It's been a while since we've done a gratitude thread so I thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Outside of the obvious (like DD) today I am grateful for:

**} Mango season! A client brought me fresh mangos from her tree last week & I have made the best homemade facials out of it.

**} How SR has been like my journal through recovery - I've been searching through a lot of the archives this week for specific topics & run across old posts of my own randomly. It's always interesting to see my growth (or lack thereof).

**} Technology that makes it possible for me to work from home at times like these. Nothing beats being able to answer the office phones & emails while getting my laundry done.

**} Plain old vanilla ice cream cones, which DD & I just finished deciding would be the PERFECT Friday afternoon summer treat.

I'm grateful that FireSprite decided to bring the TGIF thread back!!!

* The fact that my paycheck should be here any minute
* That I have time and am healthy enough to do a workout tonight to burn off the week's stress
* My kids doing so, so, so well right now
* Summer. I love summer.
* My husband. Who bought a six-pack of beer about a month ago. There are still five full bottles under the sink.

*the fact that no matter how awful things get for me, at least I don't have to deal with that PLUS deal with being married to an immature, narcissistic, angry, oversexed, abusive jerk - *****!

My son has a tennis friend who had 3 brain tumors removed 10 days ago. Praise God, the pathology was negative for cancer! My friend texted me yesterday and told me the news after they had left the neurosurgeon's office. This poor kid had been through the wringer and my son had actually just played a match against him back in April. So, today, we are grateful for God's mercy and grace.

That my 3 boys are healthy.
For SR.
For the fifty shades of grey trilogy (while not the best writing it is entertaining).
Netflix .
That I have a job where I pick my own hours!

I am so grateful for my friends, here at SR and irl. It's cooled down a bit and I am grateful for this beautiful summer weather.

I'm also thankful for the beautiful dinner I just made. Turkey meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans:

The look on my daughters face when she realised she had won our community 'Young Citizen' of the year award this week. I am so proud of her...it's all about being a role model....it's not about something she can DO but it's about who she IS as a person. Just as great, the other recipient was her best male friend.....his mum looked after my daughter 2 days a week before she started school whilst I worked....they are just sensational kids!!!

The pie my son and I had for dinner last night was so yummy...and we only ate half so dinner is done for tonight as well. Thanks Jamie Oliver for the recipe!!!

AH's family are making an extra effort to include us in events....AH had isolated us....so I'm enjoying time with them. Off to watch nephew play basketball this morning....excited!! Thanks SIL!

My mum is really helping out...so grateful. She had the kids 3 days this week when I had to tavel for work. Thanks mum!

My new job is super demanding, the standards are incredibly high. I received great feedback from the MD this week....so I was thrilled! thanks MD and thanks universe for this job!

I also am grateful for my new bike. It's retro with the cutest basket...and it has gears which my old bike didn't - so much easier getting up hills!!! Thanks universe for the job that paid for the bike!

Lastly today I washed all our sheets....I love the smell of clean sheets!!! Thanks washing machine!

Great thread!

LOL, Jarp.... I washed all my sheets & pillowcases this morning too 'cuz freshly cleaned sheets is one of the best "little things" in the whole world.

I'm also grateful to be able to share some classic movies with DD over the last few weeks.. Hairspray, Goonies, Breakfast Club, Ghostbusters!! LOL!!

I'm grateful my local Target had a massive clearance this week & I picked up a ton of great deals on games, etc. for DD for Christmas at 50%+ off.

I'm grateful for my mom's urge to experiment with her carrot cake recipes this week.... she almost perfectly replicated my favorite carrot cake cookie treat from Disney World. {drool}

I'm grateful that I have a great teacher friend who takes my DD on at least one fun field trip type day each week during the summer - museums, waterparks, beach days.
