Out of town trip
Hi Everyone,
I'm on day 8 today and overall doing well. I am taking painkillers b/c of some dental work I had done last week so I feel a little weird about that...but I'm just trying to not think about it that much.
I'm going out of town tomorrow for work and a little nervous about it since work trips for me have usually been serious binges. Drinking at the airport, drinking on the plane, drinking at dinner...just a mess. But the weird turn of events is that since I'm on antibiotics from the dental surgery, I have a built in excuse for not drinking at dinner or cocktail hour! Not that I NEED an excuse, but now its just an easy answer that I don't even have to think about.
I'm loving this sober lifestyle so far. With the exception of one weekend lapse its been over a month and I truly didn't believe it would be as awesome as it has been.

Keep it up.
I'm in my first week of sobriety, and had some situations this weekend where I dreaded being there in advance as they were situations I normally drank in. I too also used to binge on work trips.
Just keep centered on a thought (like "Don't have a 1st drink") and you'll do great!

Have a plan for the airport, how are you going to pass the time, whats the activities rather than heading to the bar, this is going to be your new Sober routine for travelling from now on!! You can do this!!
