failed after 3 days, but stronger than ever

so i managed days and nights. but i wasnt sleeping (lots of tossing and turning though) until 3/4am so last night i gave in and drank thinking i could get drunk and simply nod off, which is what always happens. (i did have cravings but they were manageable-my main reason for drinking actually was to get some sleep).
well.....i drank the foul stuff so slowly that i got tipsy but not drunk. i still didnt sleep until 3am, i had to run to throw up at 4am and the house alarm started blaring at 5am. so not a great night.
the vomiting was a nasty reminder of how quickly my body gets used to no alcohol and proves to me that it wants to recover from all the poison i have put into it over the years.
tonight i havent drank nor have i had any craving to. im really enjoying being sober...so much to do and so little time to do it!
i failed last night but i honestly think it was good for me to get that little (but important) reminder....so im still pretty proud of myself x

Hi smadams11, glad to hear you're giving it another shot. Better sleep will come with sobriety. I'm in the same boat, I messed up yesterday too. Looks like we have the same sobriety date. Just wait how good it will feel when we hit 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, a year and so on. I'm pulling for you Best wishes!

I think insomnia comes with the territory smadams.
You could always see your Dr if you feel sleep is a real problem for you.

Welcome back

Insomnia is brutal, isn't it! If you can try to not worry about it, and just relax, that might help.
