I let go my way.
We have the right to walk away, to cut contact, and even
in extreme circumstances...defend ourselves. But we do not
have the right to physically hurt others when they do not
conform to behavior patterns deemed by us to be correct.
I hope you take the time to reexamine the thought patterns
than led you to the conclusion that this was an acceptable
remedy to an admittedly very difficult problem.
It is not.
These are not animals, they are citizens. Even the lowest of
the low of them are entitled to the dignity and decency due ALL
human beings----and this is neither flexible nor subject to waiver.
Best of luck.

I understand you're angry Rndz7.
I can't agree that violence is an acceptable answer tho, because I had an abusive parent and I also had an abusive spouse.
That screwed me up pretty good.
I hope you can can find a way to really let go before this consumes you and screws you up as well.

Rndz7,
My mentor taught me at a fairly young age that actions have both intended and unintended consequences.
Your intent, I gather, was to physically injure the addict in your life. Apparently you were "successful". But as Vale noted in a very thoughtful, even-handed post, what you did was neither appropriate or, frankly, what was best for you.
So, I hope when the "results" of your actions are fully realized, you can afford to pay the price. In the meantime, God Bless.

i can understand your frustration but to hit out is wrong, i am no saint and never will be but i do manage to control that urge to punch someones lights out these days
not so easy when you have come from prison life and believe me there are no rules on decency in there
if you dont stick up for yourself in prison your going to be picked on and bullied by them all so even though violence is no answer, i have had to live that way in my past just to survive
but out in the big wide world were decency is the order of the day then we have to leave all that stuff out of it
