Day 3
I won't count everyday, but this first week is an important hurdle for me. I am back on Antabuse, so I know I will not drink. Scared to death of that stuff. I may be an alcoholic but I ain't stupid! Gonna get a little work done that I didn't finish yesterday and then spend the rest of my Fathers Day chilling out in the AC.
Alcohol really is a nasty, nasty drug! When I saw my doctor last week, we were talking about the fact that alcohol and benzos are the only 2 drugs that can kill you when you attempt to withdraw from them on your own. I asked why the hell alcohol is legal then? It's everywhere! He said, "In a word, money. There are billions to be made in tax revenue. Some people can moderate, but others have a bad gene or are otherwise susceptible to addiction. They get shunned. Some people might be able to moderate heroin usage, too, but it's still illegal." Not sure how I feel about legalizing drugs. For instance, I know if I could go to the pharmacy and buy Oxy, I'd stock up for a year. I, for one, am glad it's not that easy.

Congratulations on day three. And good job seeing your doctor.
I'm glad it's not easy to obtain drugs, too. Although I guess it really is if you know where to look. With my addictive tendencies, I'd be a total junkie.
Alcohol is bad enough.
Anyway, best of luck to you in your continued sobriety.
