Two Months
Today is two months without a drink or a toke for me.
It's been both easy and hard. I have barely craved a drink. I even had three tall beers in my fridge for over half the time and didn't consider drinking them. I finally gave them to a friend who dropped by.
Harder, much harder, is dealing with my emotions and a whole new way of thinking. I pretty much drank straight through thirty-five years. Every new day is an adventure. Some days are better than others, but every day is better than when I was getting drunk every night.

I agree with your assessment mega. Every day is better than those wasted drunk days.
I drank almost 30 yrs. so I can relate. It's wonderful to be free of it - and yes, hard to get used to the new normal at first. You're doing great at 2 months! Congratulations.

Thanks to everyone!
Last night I played Yahtzee and ate pizza with a friend who is recovering from a nasty marijuana habit. We had a great time and laughed ourselves nearly sick.
I drove home in the wee hours, went right to sleep, and woke up feeling fine. It's a beautiful day to be alive and sober.
