Alcohol dream.

I had a dream that I'd been drinking last night (can't remember any details) and it woke me with a start. I felt this enormous sense of remorse until I realised it that I had not drunk a sip. Then I felt great relief.

I woke up and my daughter came and can me a big hug - she is very excited because we are going to see 'A fault in our stars' this afternoon. Now there would have been no hug and likely no movie just plenty of tears if I had drunk alcohol yesterday!!!

Hi AlcoholFree. I remember having dreams like that when I first quit. It was such a wonderful feeling to realize I was sober & clear headed - and didn't have to wonder what I said or did the night before.

I've heard that movie is great - hope you like it.

I had one also. Took me a few minutes to shake it off. I even felt drunk when I woke up.

Good news is that you are sober and it's sober movie time with your daughter! Yay!

You're not alone - many of us have had these "drinking dreams". In my case, I had them frequently and they were very realistic. Most of the times, in the dreams, I was somehow drinking by accident...weird. Sometimes I'd wake up and have to actually walk around the kitchen to get myself straight.

But in the end you are right - it's just a dream! Congrats on waking up sober and I hope you have a great time at the event today!

By the way 'The fault in our stars' is a really lovely movie - seemed to be a big tear jerker for lots of the audience!

Drinking dreams happened on and off in my first year. Like you i always woke up with guilt and a sense of wrongdoing. I think its just part of the process.

Cant recall having had one for ages- its just a dream
