I am looking forward to:
clarity of mind
feeling good in the morning
no feelings of shame and remorse
sleeping through the night
finding joy in the simplest of things
remembering the evening before
sober conversations with my family
more energy
more money

I could go on and on ... why did I walk away from that? Why did I go back to doing the thing that I know will destroy me? Why??? Because I am an alcoholic.

I love your list--the benefits are truly endless. Mornings are definitely my favorite time of the day, now. I remember crying in the shower many a time after a night of drinking--feeling rotten and full of regret, wondering how I was going to get through the day.

Thank you for the reminders! Don't know where you are in your recovery, but I wish you the best and all of the amazing moments you described in your list!
