First AA meeting tonight

I have tried and failed on my own too many times. I Woke up sick, shaking and tired again today. I cried I need help to my dogs as my stomach wretched. I continued to say it out loud. I have been scared to admit this to the community, afraid someone will judge me.. forget it. I am helpless on my own. I am miserable. It is time. I have tried over and over again. The time has come.

You're making a great decision. I hope you feel better and your meeting goes well. That's a big step toward sobriety.

I think you should do whatever it takes to get and to stay sober.

You're doing the right thing. And remember, the AA community is there for the same reason.

Tell them it's your first meeting if you can. In all likelihood, upon leaving you will ask yourself why you waited so long. Let us know how it goes.

Good Luck! You can do it. My boy is 12 now, but I still remember that darn Thomas the Train......."I think I can, I think I can" With that being said, I KNOW you can

I'm glad it went well! If you got phone numbers please use them! I didn't, to my regret. Building an army of supporters will help.

I got to the exact same point, except I have cats, and I was on my knees by the bed.

When I cried out for help in my desperation, I got the immediate answer, "go to AA," also not on my list of things I wanted to do.

It is said AA is the largest club in the world that no one wants to join.

Welcome.
