Some questions on day 3

My last drink was thur at 7 pm... I never slept that night and freaked out terrified... I managed to somehow get through the fog of Friday and worked night shift fri night. Slept after shift. I'm in Scotland and night duty again it's 2 am sat so really my day 3. I'm feeling awful tonight... Guilt ridden cold sweats swollen eyes and sorry tmi but diaorrhea. Is this normal... I can't go back on the drink. I'm an emotional drinker. I've made up lies crying for attention when drunk... It's just crazy... My brains on over time the now xxx

Everyone's different, but I think it's pretty well within the bounds of normal.
We can underestimate the battering we give our system when we drink.

Of course if you're concerned, the best thing is to see your Dr

Sounds like my day three experiences with the sweats and diarrhea. Your body will be adjusting for a while. If you have concerns or it continues I would probably see a doctor but it sounds pretty normal to me. Meanwhile keep hydrated and maybe the BRAT diet? Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Usually recommended for people with diarrhea. And it has the benefit that if you are having trouble eating when first sober like I was it is pretty bland.

Hez - Yes, I had all that happen and more. It was horrific - that's why I can never play with it again. You will feel better and everything's going to be fine.

You know each day you get further away from the last drink you will feel better.
It was a good idea to come here and talk about it!

Hi Hez,
I felt about the same on day 3. It gets better. Drink water, eat healthy and a vitamin helped me too. After day 4 my physical symptoms lessened. Everyone is different.
This is a great place for support. Best of luck with our journey.

Sorry. Day 3 is hell. Remember what it feels like. If you start to feel better you may want to drink. Don't, you will be right back in hell in no time. I agree with the others about seeing a doctor. Iuse a non narcotic to help with anxiety and sleep. Just know you know you are not alone and take it one day at a time. Keep posting.

In a way I'm glad I'm on nights. Prob wouldn't sleep. Last night duty tomo. On mon I'm gonna be with kids and get house in order we will go a walk if weather ok. I'm going to plan the days. And I'm going to do my night shifts at weekend so no danger of alcoholism.
I've read lots of posts tonight. They really help. Xxx

It's the end of my day 3 as we'll. I haven't really slept at all. Shaky and sweating a lot too. Hang in there, we can do this!

How's it going, Hez and DL? Should be day four or five now, right? It's rough in the beginning but it gets better.
