Accountability for me: day 1 of my parents' visit
I posted once before that my heavy drinker parents were going to visit and I'm worried about it testing my sobriety. I really appreciate all the support I got. They're officially here, so part of my plan is to post to sr each night to give myself more accountability.
Today went fine--I picked them up from the airport and took them to my brother's house where they are staying. They drank during dinner but no one batted an eye when I declined (I had to drive right after dinner so they probably thought that's why.). I didn't feel a desire to drink, though I definitely felt short tempered on the way home. Still, a successful night.
Next two nights should also be pretty safe--tomorrow I work late then my parents will babysit while my husband and I go out, so I really won't be around them. Then the next night they babysit for my brother so again I won't see them during "drinking hours". So, next challenge won't be until Sunday.
