The Promotion Of Alcohol $$$$
The Promotion Of Alcohol $$$$
I live in a city that is synonymous
with the greatest football team in the
NFL (I know everyone agrees with
that) (: . You cannot possibly
believe the amount alcohol that
is consumed at the home games,
It is unbelievable! After a game,
half of the crowd is wasted, some
barely make it to their cars.
I swear some people just go there
to hang one on and probably don't
remember much about the plays.
The problem is that alcohol is strongly
promoted at the games. And surprisingly,
very few cars are stopped. There is no way
that I can ever attend another home game.

The problem is alcohol is strongly promoted everywhere. On TV you see alcohol probably every 2-3 mins unless you watch toddlers' channels. There are billboards with drinks all around outside. When you are trying to stop drinking, it becomes very obvious how much alcohol is promoted in our culture.
For normal drinkers, watching football and drinking is a fun activity. Customers want alcohol, so the vendors sell it. I worry about myself and not others; if some people want to drink, that's their business, not mine.
I live an hour from Green Bay and have been to Lambeau many times. While a lot of drinking takes place, it is possible to go sober. I've done it once sober and many others do as well. The difference is that now I go to watch the game, where before I mostly went to drink.
Yes, I agree. Some people even
go to the game and remain sober.
It's the drunks that are worrisome,
and there are many. I know LF
is off limits for me.
Yep, I was once a Bears fan.
I had to convert when I moved
here or face the wrath.

Good point, and that's when someone else's drinking does become my business. Unfortunately, football games are not the only form of entertainment where drinking takes place and is heavily promoted.
