Hello
Just a quick hello from another new guy. I am currently 7 days sober, taking each day as it comes. Like many, I've been down this road a few times - hoping to make it a little farther this time.
This seems like a nice place. I've picked up some good information already!

Hi and welcome. New and old info is great to build sober time with but in my case I also needed the application of the info. and it started with not picking up the first drink. Many years later that simple fact still works.

Thanks everyone for the welcome and the encouragement - made it through one more day today. I'm feeling pretty strong at the moment, but I know I need to be vigilant. I made it to 72 days once, and was just sitting and watching some golf and thought "I've been good, I can one drink ". Well, we know how that goes! I could literally feel the walls closing in on me as I had that drink.
Tomorrow I'll restock the fridge with some quality foods and try to keep busy. I'm interested in some of the books listed in a different thread, reading and learning is a great help to me. I did catch a couple of the TED talks by Brene Brown. I could relate to a lot of what she has to say.
