Helping
Hi and welcome SusieR1968
It's his job to achieve long term recovery, not yours
Having a supportive spouse is a great thing to have - I'm sure your husband appreciates it
Have you ever gone to AlAnon at all?

We aren't married. We talk about it but we both know his recovery is most important. He's gone thru some serious health issues and that's sort of where we started our friendship. I've thought about AlAnon. I just haven't felt any stress or conflict with his sobriety yet. Crazy huh?
Welcome Susie, I am the one with the problem with alcohol and the thing I care about most now in sobriety is to cause my SO and others not more pain and grief from drinking, so I don't. My So has had so many health problems over the last 34 years we have been together, she should have given up on me years ago , but she never did ! Now i'm proud and excited to give her back the devotion she gave to me! Just keep on loving him and you will be fine, the fact that you are in good spririts in his recovery is a big plus! Stay Strong and Well ! Bobby

Bobby,
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I truly look at him and find myself in awe. He was a pretty "bad" drinker in that he was mean and hateful. I've been in his life for the recovery so I never experienced him drunk. However...he's been brutally honest with me. I just know that he IS a good man and is working towards being a better one. I just want to be there when HE finally sees himself as we all do.
