We'll thanks for getting back.iv done the netting route not good there.live with a family that don't really drink but I really don't go out. Party is coming up andi don't know if I can go or not? 3months in again and doing a lot of reading

Hi Sis. In my case coming back for support was more difficult each time as I was in a lot of shame and was told we each have a separate limited # of times we're able to get back for various reasons. Back then the old timers told it the way it is, take it or leave it. I finally believed that if I continued to drink this disease will not ever get better only worse. I came to see that if I didn't pick up the first drink I wouldn't ever have to get sober AGAIN.

Thanks for the welcome,means a lot! I'm not I pad knowledgeable yet I am still learning.i tell myself sometimes a minute at a time, I'm sure every one has been there.now I am someone's to help me with it ! Thanks again

I stayed away from parties until I was sure I was committed to staying sober and nothing or noone could sway me.

I needed to put clear distance between who I used to be and who I wanted to become.

Took a few months for me - sure I missed a few parties, but there were other parties - when I was ready for them
