Night One
Sitting here feeling miserable. Have pink eye in both eyes, the flu and I'm going through alcohol detox.
Not a great feeling.
1. sweaty
2. shaky
3. stuffy nose
4. can't see straight
5. Cough
I'm just blogging to get through this night. The alcohol detox part is awful even with doctor supervision.

Hang in there, Justin.
My detox lasted 3-4 days. I did it on my own (stupidly) and I think it's in my top three worst things that I've ever been through.
Just remember, this CAN be the last/only time you go through this.
Make sure to drink lots of water. Try to eat something light if you can, like soup.

Yeah, I'm so sorry, I really couldn't post. I've been working like 14 hour days because of an iPhone operating system error. All is well now. Thank you all for caring.
As far as alcohol goes, I'm doing great. On day 2, there was a work celebration with free booze for everyone. I did as you all have taught me: get the hell out of there!
The detox was absolutely miserable this time.

thanks everyone. My withdrawals are weird as I've blabbed about a lot. I don't get progressive symptoms.
They all hit me on night one. At the 24 hour mark, I get incredibly confused, deathly high blood pressure (200/120 once), crippling anxiety, insomnia and sweat like there's no tomorrow. I guarantee you I would have a seizure at this point if it weren't for meds. Doctors are pretty interested in this, so I've gotten free detox before. (had to wear a brain monitor once. haha)
At day two, I have 0 symptoms other than feeling hot and not sleeping. My brain function goes back to normal, and all is well. I'm sure many of you know being an alcoholic makes your brain shrink. Mine somehow goes back to normal in a couple days. I was written up in a medical journal for it.
Let me also point out this started because I went to the ER thinking it was ok to exercise while detoxing. That's not always the case as I have just stated. Well, while doing cardio, I blacked out and had a seizure or something. Bad bad idea to not see a doctor.
I don't say all this to brag, I say all this so people know that just "sucking it up" doesn't always work. You could die. Symptoms vary by individual, and each detox is worse. So do it once and be done.
