dealing with your over reaction?

Would like to know how do you deal with your over reaction. As in over think things in every little thing goes wrong? Its one of my problems I have in life and its a reason I do start drinking when I do.

I do this and realize it's anxiety in some form. I try and accept what I can't control or change and change my mindset/ways of thinking. "Think Right, Feel Right" is a great book which has helped me immensely in this respect

I get those days, when everything goes wrong. I just plug away at it, praying, taking a moment out of the day to pray and meditate. I come across those days occasionally and I know from expirience that if I drink, it is just going to make everything worse then it really needs to be, and I will probably not deal with the matters at hand.
