Hi I'm 29 and I am addicted to cocodomal I have gone from 30/500 at 17 a day to 15/500 and I am experiencing all the withdrawal symptoms the nausea sweating cold diarrhea and feeling really unwell anyone who can relate ?

I have no experience with Co-codamol withdrawal myself, tho others will have.
You'll find a lot of support here.

The best advice is usually to see a Dr I think - they can work together with you to work out a taper plan - they can also check you over to see that all that paracetamol hasn't caused you any problems?

Hi thanks I have worked with my doctor and reduced the dose in taking however the withdrawal affects are quite bad

From what I've learned, withdrawal symptoms from co codamol are painful, though not life-threatening. The symptoms persist for a few days, declining in intensity along the way.

It's an addictive painkiller that combines a type of acetaminophen (paracetamol) with codeine which can be purchased OTC in the UK at the lowest levels of codeine. Women become addicted much more quickly and more often than man, and there has been an exponential surge in scripts for co codamol in the past several years.

Still, you may have symptoms unrelated to drug use, so it's best to check in with your doctor.

Welcome Nockers, I can relate...as another poster said this morning...codeine is the devil's work. I have found some online resources helpful for information and support, along with SR of course.
