Day 5 and still fighting

6 weeks ago I got hit by a car while riding to work on my motorcycle. I broke all the ribs on my left side. I had to take Percoset for the pain. Trying to get off of perc made me realize how dependent I am on alcohol. Been 5 days for both... Seems like this is getting harder by the day. No sleep, and still having withdrawal symptoms. Wondering what the next steps are?

Hi Browncuse
if you're having multiple withdrawal issues, maybe a Dr is best?

Hello, and welcome.
I agree the next step should be to see a doctor. Be honest. They've heard it all before and are there to help you.
Sorry about your accident and hope you heal soon. And congratulations on five days.

Went to doctor when I started this, he gave me some sleeping meds but they only work for a couple of hours and he only gave me five days. Thinking of going back after the holiday. I walked 3 miles last night in 15 degree weather, helped with he sleep but really hurt the ribs. Starting day 6, still feeling withdrawal symptoms.

I hope your ribs are mending. Ouch. Day six is hard but you can do it. Do you have support? Someone to talk to?

day 6 can be very hard. especially getting off two substances...

make sure you have support. family, friends... someone that can be around or you could at least call.
