I need AA meetings! BUT....
I have no ride! After getting my DUI on Monday the police impounded my vehicle...I talked to my boss on yesterday about borrowing one of the work vehicles, but he doesnt want a marked work truck with company name in an AA parking lot. AND I HAVE NO DAMN BICYCLE! This may sound stupid, but I have no idea how to get around town without a vehicle... and I dont have a lot of cash... Are there any unconventional ways to get to an AA meeting, that does not include taking a bus?
A little over a year ago I wanted to go to a meeting. Same thing. DUI, no car. I called an AA hotline and told them I had no ride. 5 minutes later someone called me back and told me he would pick me up. Not sure if that's an option where you live.
I remember when I called I had been drinking all day and feeling down. So I called and at the last second was about to chicken out. Someone picked up and I told him I had the wrong number. I remember him telling me "no, I don't think you do". He was more than happy to help. Told me to keep my phone near me. I was at a meeting an hour later.

Another option. A local group here (300+ members) records all their speaker meetings. Lots of real good ones, and they update it once a week.

2nd was to pick up a bike on craigslist for $25.
3rd was, where there's a will there's a way. It's cliche to say if you've been around the rooms for a while, but if it were for a bottle or a drug, we'd find a way to get there. For certain. I know I would. I was told we need to put the same passion into our sobriety.
That's the first thing tha popped into my head.

If he's that concerned, yes, park it farther from the meeting... but most meetings around here are held in churches...
Ridiculous assumption isn't it? Your post really made me laugh out loud xxxxxx
