I've become stuck again

I've been having some real success in breaking loose from this but have let myself get caught up in nightly binge drinking again.

Still continuing with support.

Annoyed I keep making excuses that I'll break free of this starting 'tomorrow'.

Can you do something different to break this cycle? Maybe you need more support. Are you going to meetings? Seeing a counselor? You seem to need a different plan to get sober.

Make a mental note of how you feel this morning and revisit that this evening

You can start over today, Kys and break the cycle. Do you have alcohol in your house? It might be a good idea to get rid of it. Plan to do something different tonight than your normal routine. You can do this!

I wasn't able to stop for a first day until there was absolutely no alcohol in the house. As Anna notes, at least for me, that was a necessary first step.

I never keep alcohol in the house, just go buy it after work, convince myself I'll start fresh tomorrow or an equivalent.

The hangovers sure are something I can't keep handling. No idea how I've done it this long.

To what do you attribute the successful times?

Whatever it is, do more of that.

At least you know they are excuses to drink.

Sobriety is obtainable. You have had every bit of wisdom this site can provide. So I am at a loss as to what to say that will help you achieve it besides "Keep trying."

Made a late plan for tonight and will bring this back to my support, making some changes on that front to increase focus.

Good words here, will revisit tonight.

Buying it after work is the same as keeping it around the house. You're just storing it at the liquor store while you're at work.
