Be happy!
Be happy!
I made it through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and my 31st Birthday sober. This was one tough year and I am glad to put it behind me. After 8 months of sobriety, I feel that I can finally start on myself. The first few months are about survival, making it through the day without alcohol, and living to the next day. Alcohol is no longer in the forefront of my thinking.
I recently read that if you have your family, a few close friends, a roof over your head and food on the table that you are richer than you think. I have to remind myself that it's not about the brands you wear or what everyone else is doing Friday night. Life is really about those 4 things and I have to be happy with what I have rather than be constantly looking for more.
Thanks for being here SR!!
