Getting ready for New Year's Eve
Hi All!
I've been sober for 3 1/2 months. Haven't posted much but read here all the time! A huge thank you to so many of you that post here. I appreciate and can relate to most of your stories. It definitely helps me to stay on the right track. This month has been hard with the holidays but thankfully I made it through without touching a drop of alcohol. I am so grateful for my family and boyfriend for standing beside me as I get my life back on track. I turn 50 in 2014 so I am way too old to be playing the moderation game of drinking anymore. Abstinence is the only thing that will work for me. As long as I stay away from the 1st drink, I never have to wake up hung over again.
Today I started preparing for a wonderful meal for my family for tomorrow night. It seemed kinda strange to be working in the kitchen and getting excited for our dinner. In the past, the #1 thing I worried about for New Year's Eve was if there was enough wine and booze in the house to bring in the New Year. I would be so drunk by the time dinner was served that it never mattered what I was eating.
Here's to a fun and sober New Year's Eve Everyone!
