Power to the People
In learning Kabbalah, you are benefiting from the blood, sweat, and tears of generations of committed kabbalists who put their lives on the line to keep this wisdom alive.
I know this from personal experience. Growing up as the son of Rav and Karen Berg, the spiritual leaders of The Kabbalah Centre, much of my youth we were treated as outcasts and we had few friends and little money. But the Rav and Karen had 100% certainty that Kabbalah would be the only force to transcend religion and unify all the peoples of the world.
If you are privy to this information, you have unknowingly accepted a great responsibility – to share this antidote to pain and suffering with friends, family, and the entire family of humankind. As we so often say in our lectures and books, a single star doesn’t light up the night sky. It takes millions.
From out of the peace movement of the ‘60’s evolved the phrase ‘power to the people’.
And while the grassroots movements of that generation created great change in society, it is this generation that will succeed in transforming the world. And this is not my opinion, but the prediction of kabbalists that lived thousands of years ago.
The days of looking to our leaders to solve our problems are over. This is not rhetoric. It is fact. Look around you. Has violence disappeared? Is hatred a thing of the past? Have the hospitals been put out of business? No. And it is not the leaders’ fault. It is our opportunity.
Every single one of you should strive to be a leader. The reality is that whether you like it or not - you are leaders. The only difference between people is their sphere of leadership. A parent is, in a sense, a leader to his children. A teacher, of course, is a leader to his students. It is obvious that you are all leaders with different spheres of leadership, meaning that you each have the ability to teach or assist different amounts of people. Understanding this, you should realize how important it is for you to develop your own leadership abilities.
The key to being an effective leader is not being charismatic and able to dominate others, but rather it is being able to feel another’s pain. And the only way you can achieve a true feeling of another’s pain is if you take time out of your life on a regular basis to help others.
Let’s say you are driving to a meeting and you are late. Suddenly you see your neighbor’s car broken down on the side of the road needing a boost. You could pretend to not see him, you could call AAA for him, or you could stop to help. If you are willing to really go out of your comfort zone, you might stop to help. Once you do, and you’ve got the jumper cables out and his hood up, what is the first thing you encounter? Grease. This means you might have to get your hands dirty, maybe even risk getting your suit spotty. Now you are acting like a true leader.
Think about that this week, and every week going forward. Are you willing to get your hands dirty when it comes to sharing the Light? If so, you will see tremendous miracles in your life and those around you.
Another thing I want to mention, is that Friday evening this week, begins the new month of Cancer. The special quality of this month is the ability to remove any problems or negative situations in your life that might cause future problems. You will find that you can activate this ability by being a leader – feeling others’ pain and getting your hands dirty. It is a law of the universe that when you are busy helping and focusing on others, you attune yourself to the Light, thereby increasing your joy, fulfillment and well-being.
