Quicksand

Back on track here after a couple of weeks drinking after three months sober - and on day three now. I feel pretty OK as I only drankf for a short while and don't have withdrawal to cope with - except in very mild ways.

I am SO glad I put a halt to 'going back'. Walking this morning with my dogs by the river here I suddenly thought of going back to alcoholic drinking as akin to walking into quicksand and how the deeper you sink into it the harder it is to get out.

That is a good way of putting it Metium. Definitely is harder to get out of the longer you are doing it.

And congrats on Day 3!

Yes definitely a good way of putting it. My last relapse was 6 weeks long with me trying to put a few days together here and there only for me to be pulled back in time and time again. It could have been a lot longer than 6 weeks -- or indeed terminal.
