I hear you .. This is my second attempt .. I hope it's the last time I have to go through withdrawals again.. There are a lot of success stories out there ... Let's be inspired by them and make it happen ... One of my best friends was so bad he was hospitalized 60 or so times .. Committed by the state .. Arrested countless times ... Lost everything ... He's now been sober over 4 years and is truly an inspiration.,. If he can do it, we can do it

Thank you for the welcome. It makes me cry but then everything does when hung over and fed up with your behaviour.

Yeah I hear that this is day 3 for me starting and I've basically been in bed since I got out of the ER .. Cold sweats all night ... Horrible ... But that will go away soon and it will get better ...the depression will lift too .. We just gotta give it some time .. Hang in there

Finding SR, posting and reading here can be the beginning of the end of your drinking. It could also be the start of something good beyond your wildest dreams.

If you feel that you need help, don't be afraid of going to the hospital. Is there anyone with you now?

No. I am in a hotel room. Battling with embarrassment & demons. Pretending I don't care but I do.

Detoxing from alcohol can be very dangerous, Abbey, so please go to an ER if you concerned.

We can't say how long withdrawal will take... how long will it be until you get home?

Well. It's complicated. I get on a plane back to the UK on Tuesday. I am in Spain. I won't drink today as I would vomit honestly. But I will have to drink a bit to stop withdrawal before I can get home to some help. I was offered a recovery programme about 3 years ago. Didn't take it. I will do now.
