During our prayers last night, my 9 year said she is thankful for AA.

If that isn't a reason to stay sober, then I don't know what is!!!
We always start prayers off with what we are thankful for and she blew me away with her response. I am not the only one benefiting from sobriety and the 12 steps, my family is as well and that makes me SO HAPPY!
Just had to share

I said I would quit when I had a kid, then again when they turned 1,2, 3, and so on.
The reality is that alcoholism is illogical. It is defined by the person repeatedly failing to do what they should do or need to do. It frustrates alcoholics to no end to know what the right choice is and then fail to make it again and again.

My partners kids (14, not number of kids but years old!lol) all know about AA and my recovery. My partner laughs when she gets flustered and they say 'just one day at a time Mum' or recite the serenity prayer to her! Sharing recovery with your family is awesome. Nothing but good will come of it.

Anchor, as a father with a 10yr old daughter, I relate to your joyous experience. Don't let the negative comments of one jerk on here ruin it for you!! You see the outpouring of support from the 99% of the rest of us.
Anchorbird, my mom has 36 years of sobriety through AA, I grew up going to meetings with her. I am sure that the early exposure to the program helped me recognize my own problem. My daughter will be 9 next week!
There's not much left, but I removed a lot of posts and posts that replied to or referred to those posts.
If you see a problem - best thing to do is report it - then use the ignore function.
I've spent 30 mins on this across the board - lets move on
thanks

I truely believe AA was devinely inspired. God guided 2 hopeless alcoholics to discover a program that has saved countless alcoholics and endures unchanged for 80 years.
