cooking :-/

So....ive spent the day being productive.study, mowed my lawns ( in this heat!) ran with the big dogs ( again...in this heat!) and now I've made, for the first time a lentil chilli with Mexican rice - vegan.my family and I have been vegetarians for my whole life and we r going vegan in the new year so I'm experimenting. And I can't cook lol but its yum! Anyways, this is how I'm distracting myself at the moment. Anyone else trying new things?

Graphology. Takes a steady hand, which I never had in my drinking days!

Absolutely + 1 for cooking! I have a major fondness for baking, too Walking and reading subject matter I've discovered I quite like-not all black/doom/gloom material! I'd quite like to learn how to knit

Hey AN

It's warm in kiwi land ? Bloody cold here in Strailya ! Anyway, the only really new thing I am doing is Tibetan meditation. I find the Buddhist precepts and teachings really resonate inside. Aside from that, I am gradually rekindling my love for photography which I was absolutely nutty about before the drink washed it away.

Hope you're doing well !

I'm so jealous of you mowing your lawn in the heat! Here it's 9 degrees right now!

I believe that's 9 degrees Fahrenheit which I don't think the North Island sees.

9F = -12.7C. Yes, that's a NEGATIVE 12.7 C. I'm in the Midwest US also. I always think it's funny when people say "oh, yeah it gets cold here too"....not the same!

I think those of us living in this climate should get some kind of tax break, or financial reimbursement, just for putting up with this kind of stuff. Anyone on else on board?

I'm trying to pick up playing the piano again as well as needlepoint/cross-stitch; both which are challenging when drinking and I stopped doing altogether. I'm working on a cross stitch project now that has the serenity prayer and a lighthouse to remind me of my beloved Maine Single digits and wind gusts today in Vermont. Winter is here for sure!

I've been trying to alter my diet and go vegan/vegetarian. I like cooking but rarely do it if I drink. SO hopefully I'll take it up a bet more seriously if I'm gonna be sober. I've also taken up bird watching. It's kind of like hunting but nothing gets whacked!

Learning German again and lots of running! And enjoying a lot of things I was doing while I was drinking but getting a LOT more out of them now I'm not.

Yep, loads of cooking. Haven't done much recently, but that, running and SR basically kept me sober for the first few months.

I'm writing and reading a lot. I'm on day 5 and I think my body is tired from the withdrawal. I'm feeling good for the most part but I'm very "blah". I hope after a few weeks my energy picks up and I can start being productive.
