He nearly died
As the title says
my boyfriend is lucky to be alive he drank so much he became unconscious and began to choke on his vomit, I luckily found him in time and had to phone an ambulance, he was put into a coma .
They brought him out of coma and then told us all that he was 3 minutes away from passing and that he must have someone looking down on him as most people would not have survived, his body fought for it and fortunately won.
The bad news........ He's still drinking, seriously this is how much of a hold this drink has on him. I feel hopeless, all I can do is pray and pray and pray , god help me and mostly him.

I'm so sorry, for him and for you.
My son almost died twice from overdoses and neither one of them slowed him down for more than a day.
It's tragic how strong addiction is. It's tragic to watch.
Hugs

BTDT with an alcoholic! Totaling a bike wasn't enough... maybe more vodka would do it?!!! Eh... wanna shovel with that drink? Oh... my bad... you already have one!
Amazing isn't it? And not in a good way!!! Just unbelievable...

sadly with some addicts, surviving a near death experience makes them feel invincible. it's irrational and so sad. however not all bottoms equal the most terrible thing that happened while using....
this must be very difficult for you. but know, it is truly out of your hands. glad you are here.

oh starlight23. I am so sorry you are suffering through this.
I have to be perfectly honest; fear of this exact scenario is the reason I was able to give my XA his house key back, and let go of him once and for all.
I simply loved him too much to be the one to find him like that.
I understand why you stay, though. You'll get no judgement from me. Just support, love and understanding.
Hang in there honey. And I hope he finally sees the light.

I am so sorry Starlight. I so wish it had been a wake up call for your boyfriend but he is controlled by a truly horrible disease. My AH had a subdural heamatoma in July and nearly died - I prayed he would realise how lucky he was to survive and cut down but he only did it for a short period.
You cannot help your boyfriend unless he wants to help himself. Please look after yourself and please try to 'detach' - I know easy to say but so hard to do.

Starlight, I'm so sorry. Not only because you had to go through that, but because through this situation you've seen how powerful a hold alcohol has over him. It's terrible and sad that he is so very sick. I wish I could offer some words of real comfort, but all I can say, is that we here at SR are all here for you. ((hugs))
