Day 11 and an hour away from my new job
Usually when I start a new job I'm pretty nervous, but I have to say I'm actually excited right now. This is the first time in years that I've gone into a new workplace and been totally sober and confidant.
Usually I head in the first day having drank every day leading up, I show up less than 100%, and I wonder how long will it be until I start calling out with excuses because I'm too sick from drinking. It almost happens like clockwork. Two months where I'm productive, followed by a slide where I start coming in a hungover mess everyday. Well, not this time. I'm sticking to my plan, I'm going to stay sober, and I hope it reflects in the work I do and attitude I bring in every day.
