I can do this right?

After the slip yesterday I am struggling with my confidence. I can do this right?

I've never known anyone who really wanted to be sober, and who was prepared to do whatever it took, to fail Patricia

Here's a confidence booster. Take that question mark out of there and say to yourself

"I CAN do this RIGHT!"

Yes, you CAN do this

The plan is to learn from my mistakes I don't know what else to do but to keep trying...

I'm only day 6 so I'm no authority, but I'm pretty confident because I remind myself the following:

I regret my past (which comprises of drunken mistakes) and I look forward to my future (comprising of sober mistakes)

One drink is never enough and it hurts more having just one than it does having none

If I continue drinking I face a life of mediocrity

Financially I cant afford to drink

Socially I cant afford to drink

There's plenty more reasons but I hope they help. You probably know them already and I hope I don't sound too cocky (being day six and all) but those are my top four reasons at the moment

In my experience the lack of confidence and shame etc comes after drinking, is a result of the condition itself- if you manage to stay sober it will no longer be part of your life.

It is possible to keep on making the same mistakes- so having a plan helps

in time your will be successful if you keep trying- beating yourself up however can be a detraction from planning and learning from others

There is no doubt you can Patricia. You've faced up to what happened and came back to try again. You learned something valuable. Nothing can stop you.
