Update
I joined this forum january 2008.
That's a big 5,5 years ago...
I needed those 5,5 years to get in touch with my sober self.
I'm 29 now, started getting wasted at 13.
All I knew growing up into an adult was getting high, drunk, whatever, as long as it provided a rush.
Looking back at it now I can see i never had a particular drug of choice, I can get addicted to anything as long as it gives me the adrenaline/dopamine/endorfine shot so I can errr.....escape from reality.
Booze/drugs are not the problem anymore.
I even quit smoking.
Drink some coffee, and tea, and energy drinks, but nothing too extreme.
Everyday is new day.
A chance do to right.
It can be done.
Everybody can get sober.
There is a healthy way out.
I never truely believed it, untill now and I can look 'back' for the first time in my life.
I still read stories here on SR. As a reminder, and for inspiration.
The site is my NA.
However I should post more and get more engaged I keep saying to myself lately. For recovery is an active proces.
