Day one again
Day one again
I'm in mental pain but in some way I'm glad I can say I'm going to try again, its my first sober day again, on Saturday after 4 or 5 sober days I fell again, I also drank yesterday (Sunday). I was in pain all night, my arms and legs couldn't stop aching both nights. Now I'm here, tonight I will be teaching myself step 1 again hopefully will not disappoint myself again in the coming days.
A good word of encouragement would be highly appreciated.

Hi fifth, I think getting your head around 'never drinking again' is why we struggle so much in the beginning - it's that fear 'what, NEVER again?!!??'. Decide to quit 100% - you can do it - and go for it - don't look back - I'm still new to sobriety and caved at 6weeks first time round - now on day 44

@JustSarah - not really good, the first day is always something big, lot of drama, sadness and rough thoughts, I'm planning to spend some more time here before the day comes to an end, at least I know that I will wake up tomorrow feeling good.
Hi fifth, I know the pain well - it does get better with time - on both of my recent times of quitting I think I withdrew from the world for about 3 weeks - I just needed to focus on myself and find my feet without anyone else's drama - each day of not drinking you do get stronger . Give yourself time and don't beat yourself up too much - you can do this

Kudzu helps stave off alcohol cravings, a vitamin B complex helps you feel a bit better and Alan Carrs 'easyway to stop drinking' has definitely been an eye opener to the alcohol trap

@lorlei - very pleased to meet you here, well done on your second day, think I will be here frequently so will find time to chat with you
@JustSarah - thanks again for your advice, like you said I think I need to unplug for a couple of days but it will not be easy as there is no way I can abstain from work

Hiya Fifth ! And welcome to the family.
I drank for 20 plus years, 4-6 times a week, nightly binges. And with every hangover, I quit. So I figure roughly 4996 times, before it actually stuck.
One little day at a time is truly all it takes. Oh, and not ever ever having even a sip again...
Be well and welcome !
