1 Year Today and a Surprise in the Mail
Grateful for a year of sobriety today. Really don't feel like telling anyone else but all of you on here. Although I doubt that I would have discussed it with him, I do sort of wished my Dad was around to know. He passed away several years ago. He was a recovering alcoholic AA "old timer" with 20+ years of sobriety. Funny thing is that he had saved a watch of his for me. My aunt had good intentions of getting it to me ever since his passing but never got around to it.
Guess what showed up priority mail today! She has no idea that I quit drinking, let alone anything about today's milestone. I knew she had finally mailed it a few days ago but I didn't think of the significance of it arriving today until it hit me this morning. Makes me feel like my HP is saying "I get it, and I got your back."
Thanks to all of you for helping me get here.
