I made it to my first meeting!
I made it through my first meeting! WOW, what a relief. I'm so happy it was a good experience. My first fear was that I wouldn't even make it through the door, but I did. So far so good. My next fear was that it would just be a bad experience. That I would feel uncomfortable or that I didn't fit in. But thank god, that wasn't the case at all. People were really nice to me, I felt comfortable and it was easy to relate to everyone who spoke. And my finally fear was that even if made it past those first 2 hurdles, I would still be just to scared to speak up. That I would hide in the back and not say a word. But I somehow found the courage to speak up. I will say this... I was a nervous wreck. My heart was beating out of my chest. But I feel so much better now. What a relief, that's all I can say. There were some really nice people there who talked to me after, and I'm lining up meetings for the entire week. That's my short term goal right now. Well, my short short term goal is to make it to another meeting tomorrow. And then the rest of the week after that.
Thank you to everyone here at SR who helped me these past 2 days

I'm so happy that you had a good experience. I promise you, it just keeps getting better. You'll actually find yourself looking forward to certain days because you're looking forward to a meeting!
Glad to hear it! And welcome.
Reminds me of my first trip through the doors. Hearing others speak of the thoughts in my head. It was a great experience, and I keep on coming back. My Wednesday night group (soon to be my homegroup) is pretty awesome... I look forward to it all week long!
