Adage for the Day for 7/10/13
First of all, I do think the program is simple. Spirituality really is dirt simple. However, I don't think most people who say "Keep it simple" are talking about the program. They are more likely talking about the level of what individuals talk about.
IMO what most of them really mean is "Let's not rock the boat". That usually indicates they don't want to hear anything more complicated than "Don't drink and go to meetings". They are not interested in the entire 12 step program nor are they interested in hearing anything quoted from AA approved literature. They just want to talk about themselves, their glory days or clever slogans.
Unfortunately, more often than not, the KISS slogan gets hi-jacked by
D-students who want to stay D-students forever.
