Where does one find time for treatment?

I am exactly 7 days sober..and feeling good. I get up early and hit the gym before work..at 9:00. I work until 530 usually get home around 7. Eat dinner .do a few chores..then fast asleep ( without alcohol..yay!) by ten. My question is how do you find or fit in aa ..counselling or anything else. Weekend is approaching ..and that is a slippery slope. InsteAd of falling asleep with a novel ..ill pick up Rational recovery ..this will be the second read..bought it years ago.its a start .

I work around my schedule for my IOP (intensive out patient) they have night sessions or I go every other day. As long as you try your best and are committed and go into it with an open mind that's the right step to healing.

It's been said in early recovery that you should go to meetings/treatment/whatever your choice. ..on the days you normally would have drank.

For me right now that means a meeting every day. Sometimes twice a day. I was a daily drinker.

Also suggested to me was 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days.

Everyone has a different approach, but right now I'm leaning on the suggestions of those who have been there, done that Best of luck to you!

If what you are doing is working, maybe just use this for now. There is no "wrong" way to be sober...i think maybe you are adjusting to a "normal" routine. The weekends can be filled with fun sober activities too. congrats on your first week!

My recovery comes before everything else.
If i go to a meeting hungry, i know there is food after wards.
If i dont go to a meeting and I pickup there may not be another recovery for me.
When i used the excuse that i have kids i cant go, i had to start taking them along.

Go to any lengths is what i have to do.

There are AA meetings in Vancouver that run almost 24/7; some are as early as 03:00, and some as late as 23:00. There's gotta be a time in there that'll fit into your schedule; drinking seemed to......................

You make time fot the things you find important in your life no matter how busy you are. This is one of the few key concepts that I needed to embrace in order to stay sober.
