No appetite
No appetite
When I first stopped drinking all I did was eat. I craved for chocolate, candy, ice cream, cakes...everything...
Now it's my fifth week sober and I don't have any appetite at all...I get hungry but as soon as I see food, it takes my appetite away...
Anybody else feeling like this?
I started working out more but it doesn't have any affect....
Now I just force myself to eat something healthy and hope that this passes fast...

When I was drinking I was lucky if I could keep a couple crackers down, I went into detox couldnt eat to save my life. I went 15 days before having to go number 2. Ive been sober several months now and all I eat is honeybuns and frosted flakes.

Totally get this. First 2 weeks I eat like an elephant, sweat all night and have crazy nightmares and sleep paralysis. Then I lose all appetite, start sleeping well and.... Well, haven't gotten farther than that in 4 years. I'm sure it will come back, keep pluggin.
On Monday, my day 1, I had a craving for either beer or ice cream. I went to McDonald's and ate three ice cream cones in a row. Not healthy, but definitely better than another 12-pack. Maybe I should pick up some sweets to help with the first couple weeks.
I've passed the sugar stage. I must have a lower appetite because I am losing weight. So far I don't view it as a problem. I am having a problem with intestinal cramps. Could be anxiety related. I see my doctor next week.
Both seem to be regulating out now at three months.
I still crave chocolate but it is down to once/twice a day. I think I ate more ice cream and chocolate in the last two months then I ate over the last ten years. Also more popcorn, WTH is that? No idea why popcorn smelled and tasted so good.
I really do not have that much of an appetite. I mean I eat but more cause I should or it is there rather then I am really hungry.
I don't recall if my appetite eventually dropped off when I had a pretty good (for me, anyway) sober run of a few months last year. I lost a bit of weight, but I was back to running. I know I ate a lot of chocolate in the beginning--those little Dove dark chocolate miniatures, I could just sit and eat them, six or seven in a row. When the little foil wrappers start to stack up it's time to go do something else for a minute.
