Cranberry juice helps withdrawal/"quitting headaches" BIGTIME
Just thought I would share this helpful tip. The title says it all -- cranberry juice makes the first 3 days of quitting not too nightmarish. I've quit a handful of times, and it always sucked because of the awful headaches. But this last time I tried drinking cranberry juice. Every time I felt the onset of a craving or headache, I would just take a sip or two of cranberry juice. Did the trick. No headaches. Not one.
Not sure on the exact science, but I am pretty sure that for whatever reason it is optimal for restoring blood sugar levels (which take a huge drop in early stages of nicotine withdrawal). And extra bonus, it's much healthier to stave off cravings and headaches with juice rather than chocolates or unhealthy candies.
Hope this can help someone out there!
